Designed for simulating a multi-vehicle swarm threat, the Hammerhead is an advanced unmanned surface vehicle (USV) that is controlled by the STANAG Universal Target Control Station (UTCS) 5.0 using a single data frequency which can communicate & control up to 16 vehicles simultaneously. The Hammerhead can use preprogrammed operational scenarios or can be controlled via a manual mode which allows the operator to take full control of the vehicle. Each UTCS can operate up to 4 vehicles simultaneously. For SWARM Exercises requiring 16 targets, 4 UTCS would be deployed (1 master and 3 slaves), the entire mission is recorded by the master UTCS and all mission and vehicle telemetry data can be played back and reviewed at the end of the mission. The Hammerhead is powered by a 3.0L 4 cylinder inboard gas engine which delivers 135 prop HP and can reach speeds of up to 35 knots in sea state 3 and 25 knots in sea state 5. Depending on operation speeds, the Hammerhead has 10 hours of endurance at a constant speed of 25 knots before requiring refueling. The custom made hull is made from an award winning advanced composites which adds to the hull strength and uses surface effect design which allows for greater maneuverability and performance at high speeds. The Hammerhead is a cost effective kill target with payload options that include: MDI (Miss Distance Indication) scoring, video telemetry, and radar augmentation. |
